Alice in Wonderland

Well this movie isn't really new per say, but It's recent, and I thought I would express my opinion on it.

Synopsis: This movie is a sequel to the famous Alice In Wonderland. Now, Alice, being plagued with nightmares and dreams of her last visit, returns to Wonderland again, now much older. This time, she must help the mad-hatter escape from the clutches of the evil queen.

Review: Ugh, what a genuinely boring movie. This movie just seemed to lull on with absolutely nothing intriguing. No edge on your seat, no particularly witty dialogue, no character progression. Just nothing. This movie is just boring.

Rating:
1.Plot: This movie had a horribly boring plot, that seemed to lack the wonder of Tim Burton's previous films. It just seemed to go on and on, and there is no twist, no change, or anything. 2/5
2.Camera Quality: This movie was primarily animated, but the animation was superb. Though I didn't see it in 3D, because I never do, I had read it was very shift, but I can't include that. So quality, 5/5
3.Music: This movie didn't have anything that really caught my attention, or that I can remember, so 4/5.
4.Script: Amazingly boring script. No wittiness, or the "epic-osity" of most Tim Burton films. So 2/5
5.Acting: The actors in the film stunk, they seemed downright bored. Kind of like Kristin Stewart. The only redemption was Johnny Depps creepy acting ability. So 3/5

This movie scored 16/25, which is an OK movie. It had several downfalls, it's major two being its poor acting and boring plot.

How to Train Your Dragon 2D!

Before I begin this review, I decide to take this opportunity to give you my opinion on 3D movie viewing. I hate it! I think it's the most distracting thing in a movie, and it is usually used to make people not realize how stupid a movie is. Granted, some movies are good, even with 3D, but its still bleeding annoying. I never watch movies in 3D, for two reasons. One, I don't have a job, so i have no money, and 3D costs more. Second, It is distracting, and you wear big goofy glasses. Anyhow, back to the review

Synopsis: How to Train Your Dragon is about a small viking boy (voiced by Tropic Thunder's Jay Baruchel), who is quite different from the whole village. This boy is constantly in the shadow of his father ( voiced by Gerard butler), the greatest dragon killer of his village. One fine night, he finally manages to find a dragon. Unfortunately, unable to kill the dragon, he quickly befriends it and starts to lead a life full of complication.

Review: I was very interested to see if Dreamworks had anything interesting to contribute, especially after their last success of Kung Fu Panda. As the movie starts, you can tell that Dreamworks has stepped things up. The animation is superb, with FANTASTIC visuals. But, as Avatar has showed us, visuals don't make a movie. Luckily, the viewer is provided with excellent story telling and great characters. The plot is as cookie cutter as it gets, and predictable too. But, because of the great characters and the humor, it proves to be appealing to both adults as well as children. 20/25

In conclusion, the movie performed well, marking it above most films with a score of 22/25. Its major downfalls was the cookie cutter plot as well as the standard background music.

Fantastic Mr. Fox

Ok so this is my first review so I will give you the basic layout.

Synopsis: (This is the part where I give you the basic plot of the movie) This movie is a stop motion, animated film about a clever fox (voiced by Mr. George Clooney) who after leaving a life of crime, settles down and has a kid with his wife( voiced by Meryll Streep). Feeling poor, he decides to buy a new home that overlooks the factories of 3 mean farmers. Unable to resist the urge he decides to resort back to a life of crime. From then on, its chaos and hilarity.

Review: ( This is where I say my opinion on the movie) This movie had an animation style similar to Wallace and Gromit, but had its own special touch, giving the movie a warm feel to it. The animation is a bit jittery but the whole thing is stop motion, made by one man, so I excused it. The movie had great humor to it, as well as a great set of characters. This made for an hour and 30 minutes of pure fun and joy.

Rating: (Where I give it a score out of based on certain factors)
  1. Plot: The plot is the most important part of a movie as It keeps you interested or it bores you to tears, so it is very important.Luckily, this one had a great one, though similar to old fables. But since it is a new take on it, 5/5
  2. Camera quality: This rates how well the animation appeared, or the camera style showed up. This movie had a new animation style that was fresh and fun. 5/5
  3. Music: This rating is about the music in the movie. This movie wasn't heavy on music, but the music in it was light and fit the scene well. 5/5
  4. Script: This rating is a rating of the dialogue of the film. In this case, it performed superbly with witty responses and an interesting way to cover up obscenities. 5/5
  5. Acting ablity: Well this movie used voice acting, but they performed superbly with a great cast, so 5/5
So all in all, this movie did great with a 25 out of a possible 25.

Warming Up

Hello who ever is following this. I am a Kansas boy who has the passion for movies. I myself have seen thousands of movies, and I thought it would be interesting to see how many people agree with my opinion. Hence the creation of this blog. I will try to do modern movies, but every once in a while I will review an older one, or one I would recommend. So, any helpful criticism, movie ideas, or uplifting comments are appreciated. I will start posting right after this
